If you are buying a property with a pool or spa that does not have a pool safety certificate in place we realize that it is important for you to know the possible cost in correcting any faults before you have committed to buying the property. After the property has settled you must have a pool safety certificate in place within 90 days of settlement. A Pool Safety Certificate is effective for 2 years for a non-shared pool.
We highly recommend that you don’t leave it to the last minute because if it does not comply you may run out of time to get it fixed and you may receive an infringement notice from your local government.

If the seller has had an inspection done and has been given a Nonconformity Notice you might like to ask for a copy so that you are fully aware of what needs to be done to obtain a Pool Safety Certificate prior to purchasing.
